Jessica Reeves
Jessica Reeves is an experienced social impact professional with a history of working at the intersection of media, politics, and social good. She recently served under the Biden-Harris administration with the Small Business Administration's newly established Public Engagement office, where she worked with key stakeholders, organizations, and individuals to ensure resources reach and are accessible to all 33 million + small businesses in the US. She led initiatives with public and private sector entities including federal agencies, congressional leaders, and corporations such as Google, Amazon, and Microsoft.
Before and after joining the SBA, she advised and consulted for various organizations and for-profit companies on civic engagement, social enterprise, and nonprofit programs through her consulting firm JL Reeves Strategies. Jessica has a history of working on transformative campaigns with a range of partners, from launching the first “ride to the polls” project with Lyft, to pioneering Facebook campaigns for voter engagement in 2010. She has co-founded projects such as National Voter Registration Day as well as Support Latino Business, a nonprofit and day of action supported by over 20 mayors and local city governments. Through her consulting work, she has worked with locally focused groups like Texas Future Project and Blue Leadership Collaborative as well as national groups such as Rock the Vote, Supermajority, and YWCA around leadership development, coalition building, and strategic planning.
Previously, Jessica served as Chief Operating Officer at Voto Latino, a pioneering civic media organization shaking up the political establishment to bring underserved youth voices into the democratic process. Jessica joined the organization in its early stages and helped build innovative programmatic initiatives and managed a budget of over 8 million dollars. In her role as COO, she was responsible for managing a staff of 20+ during election cycles, developing and managing key partnerships, and shepherding high-impact digital tools and campaigns.
Jessica has spoken at various national conferences and convenings on the intersection of youth, politics, media, and technology including the United Nations’ Forum on Minority Issues in Geneva, the Aspen Institute’s Convening on Latino Civic Engagement, SXSW, AFL-CIO’s Civil, Human and Women’s Rights Conference, and many more. Her interviews have appeared in Univision, Telemundo, CNN, NBC, American Prospect, Washington Post, USA Today, and others. Jessica has served on the boards of Priorities USA, NonProfit Votes, Indivisible Austin, and currently serves on the board of Rock the Vote.
Prior to joining Voto Latino, Jessica worked in General and Hispanic Market advertising where she helped launch award-winning digital and social media marketing campaigns for major brands, including Kraft, Twix, and Domino’s Pizza, among others.
Jessica earned a BA from Boston College and an MA from Georgetown University. A native of El Paso, TX, she currently lives in Washington, DC with her husband, two daughters, and two Boston Terriers.
